For the first semester, our students will focus on non-informational texts. They will
*read short stories, novels, and plays *cite textual evidence to support their answers *determine the theme of a text *determine the meaning of unfamiliar words *summarize a text
Since accelerated reading counts for two test grades again this year, I encourage my students to read for thirty minutes each night.
